What are the different modes of the Ninja Blender?

Ninja blenders all have their own unique settings, functions, and designs. Some are for blending alone, whereas others will have specific functions for specific recipes.

By learning how to work a Ninja blender, you can make a variety of dishes – no matter which model you’re working with. Below, we’ll explain the core settings of Ninja blenders to help you get the most out of yours.

Pulse

Pulse is a manual setting that chops and moves ingredients around your blender: allowing you to achieve your desired texture or unclog the blade before moving to another mode.

Blend (smoothie)

Blending powerfully breaks down the ingredients inside your Ninja blender. On Ninja blenders, this will be the preset smoothie setting. Simply choose the mode and let your blender create a flavourful sauce, dressing, hummus, or soup.

Extract

The extract function is a preset setting designed to draw as much flavour and nutrients out of your ingredients as possible. This mode is fantastic for any recipe where you want to turn the ingredients into a liquid, making it particularly useful for creating healthy soups or nutritious drinks.

Spread

This function allows you to make thicker recipes, such as hummus and nut butters. Sometimes these recipes need more movement inside the cup or pitcher. To ensure a productive blend, models like our Ninja Foodi Power Nutri Compact System have a twistable lid that can manually mix the food as it blends. You can also try using the pulse setting on your ingredients before selecting spread to finish the job.
